GREEN AND HISTORIC WALK WITH TAPAS IN CÁDIZ OLD TOWN
Join in on a green and historic walk with tapas in Cádiz’ old town, where you also get to enjoy some of the green oases in town.
Did you know that Cádiz used to be THE MOST IMPORTANT CITY IN EUROPE, in terms of trading, in the 16th and 17th century? In those days Cádiz’ harbors had the monopoly in Europe on the trading with North and South America, after Columbus went ashore in America in 1492. Because of that, Cádiz used to be very rich. Today you can still get the feeling from the many lavish trader houses and towers in the city, though they have seen better days.
But before the trading period, Cádiz had been inhabited by the Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs. Not at the same though, but Cádiz has been very popular to many nations and it makes it the eldest continuously inhabited city in Europe, it is more than 3000 years old.
On this tour we will also visit some of the many lively plazas and green oases of the city. We will end the historic walk with tapas at restaurant ‘La Veganesa’. I will invite you to try some traditional Spanish tapas made vegan style. If you are interested in learning more about the amazing history of Cádiz and all its funny details, sign up for the tour below.
